Overbooking is a practice in which more reservations are accepted than available capacity. This is done to compensate for no-shows, cancellations, and last-minute changes, helping to maximize revenue and ensure full resource utilization.

Overbooking can occur in the following scenarios:

• When the "Allowed Overbooking Quantity" and "Overbooking Backup Class" settings are configured for a specific vehicle class, the system permits overbooking using the backup class and the specified quantity.

• When the "Enable Availability Calculations" setting in "Settings → Car Rental → Settings tab" is set to “No”, availability will not be calculated, and the system will allow overbooking.

• Overbooking can also occur when using OTA connections like Nextcar (Rent a Wreck), Rezpower (ACE), and connections via email parser, as these do not have availability checks. The only connections that have availability checks are CRX and Turo.
