How it works

A Sharebox with multiple lockers is placed in a specific fleet location. The locker is assigned to a location in HQ from the system settings. The lockers are assigned per vehicle to store the keys.

How to Deposit Keys for Upcoming Reservations

1. Prepare the vehicle for the upcoming reservation as usual (clean, fueled, inspected). You can review the daily manifest “All Today’s Pickups.”

   

2. In HQ, navigate to the reservation page for the car you are preparing. Click the "Open Locker" button.

   The system will automatically:

   • Find the first available locker in your Sharebox cabinet
   • Label it with the vehicle's plate number

   

   The keys in locker Yes/No means “Will the keys be in the locker after you close it?”.

   In this example below, when you click on Open Locker in the modal, the sharebox locker 27 will be opened.

   

   Now, please put the keys in the locker and physically close the locker door. The vehicle will now show the locker #, Row, and Column — identifying exactly where the keys are stored.

   The vehicle is now ready for self-service pickup. For the end user (the renter), the lockers can be opened from the self-service flow with the button “Open Locker”.

   

How to Retrieve and Deposit Keys

If you have the keys in Sharebox, and you need to get the keys to move the car or clean the car.

Go to the corresponding vehicle page. In the upper right corner, you can find the Sharebox section. You can click on Open Locker to open the locker and retrieve the keys.

After moving the car, you can go back to the vehicle page, click on Open Locker again, to open the locker, put the keys inside, close the door, and click on the modal blue button to indicate to the system that the keys are now in the locker.

Sharebox lockers can be acquired and used without any Telematics solution; it is recommended to use them with HQ Telematics to add a security layer.
