Vehicles can be assigned to reservations from the following places in the system:

• From the calendar: You can drag an existing reservation to a vehicle or create a new one from a specific vehicle slot in the calendar.
• From Open reservations: Press the "Assign Vehicle" button.
• During pickup in step 7 of Open Reservations: Select a vehicle from the dropdown list of the Vehicle field and process the pickup.

Manual Vehicle Assignation For Open Reservations

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to manually assign vehicles for reservations in "Open" status.

<aside> 💡 Tip: We recommend disabling Vehicle Assignation for Open Reservations completely and assigning the vehicle manually in step 7 of reservations when the customer comes to pick it up. If this is done, the system calculates the availability every time and can assign the vehicles optimally in reservations.

Step 1 Navigate to Settings → Car Rental → Settings and set "Allow Vehicle Assignation for Open Reservations" to "Yes" and click on the blue “Save” button at the bottom of the page.

When this option is enabled, the following options become available:

• Assign Vehicle Automatically to Open Reservations: Allows for automatic instead of manual assignment.
• Automatic Vehicle Assignation Method: This can be set to least reservations, most reservations, lower odometer, or higher odometer.
