Vehicle classes are vehicle categories based on their size, weight, and intended use, such as Economy, Luxury, and SUV. These classifications are similar to SIPP (Standard Interline Passenger Procedure) codes, an industry standard for categorizing vehicles by key features and determining pricing.

The rates in a system are configured specifically per vehicle class. These classes are displayed during Step 2 (Vehicles) of the reservation process and will also be reflected on any integrated website.

You can organize your vehicles into different classes based on:

• Cars with the same rates are usually added to the same class; however, if one of the cars is an SUV and the other is a luxury car, you would split them into different vehicle classes.
• Cars with the same rates but different prices for additional charges. For example, if the insurance coverage for a Honda is more expensive than the insurance coverage for a Toyota, you would split them into different vehicle classes.
• In the case, you have a small fleet and all of them are different vehicles, you should create a Vehicle Class, with each vehicle model, for example, Ford Fiesta 1.8, or Toyota Camry Coupe, this will allow you to display them individually in step 2 of the reservation process.

Your system's vehicles are linked to one of these vehicle classes, which in turn are linked to a company branch. Therefore, if you have multiple branches, you would have to create different vehicle classes per branch, even if they are the exact same. Each vehicle class can have a rate created.
